Vaccine Ingredients – Part Two ~ Written by Deb O’Leary

In our last Weekly Dose,  Shawna shared links to information listing the ingredients in today’s vaccines.  We hope you had the opportunity to review the information.  I am sure many of you still have questions.

There is a tool on NVIC.org called the vaccine calculator, where you can plug in your child’s weight and age, choose the vaccines being recommended and calculate the amounts of Aluminum, Thimerosol (ethyl mercury), Formaldehyde, Polysorbate 80. Bovine Protein, Egg Protein, Yeast Protein and Human protein from aborted fetal cells such as MRC-5. You can print out your results and take it to your doctor. The Gardasil 9 is not in the calculator, so be sure to increase the 225 mcg. of aluminum to 500 mcg. per dose.

To get you started, let’s focus on Aluminum.  It is a heavy metal used as an adjuvant to help vaccines work better.  As an adjuvant, it binds the antigen, or virus to the cells in the body and helps create a more robust immune response to produce antibodies.  Problem is, it sometimes is not excreted, can build up in the body and cross the blood brain barrier.  Here is the latest FDA statement on parenteral (injected) dose of aluminum.  This regulation does not apply to aluminum in vaccines.  If vaccines were included in this FDA regulation, the DTap, Hep B, and Gardasil 9 among others, would all carry warning labels.   A premature infant who may have problems with kidney or liver function, should receive only 3 to 4 mcg. per kg in any injectable form.  A five pound pre-term infant would be just under 2.3 kilograms.  So the maximum daily amount of parenteral aluminum should be less than 11 mcg. daily.  The Hepatitis B vaccine, which is given on the day of birth, contains 250 mcg of Aluminum.  More than 200 times the amount deemed safe when injected according to the FDA.  More details see this link from Dr. Bob Sears Vaccine Book FAQ’s

You may wonder why there hasn’t there been an effort to produce safer and less toxic vaccines?  This could be related to a 1986 bill passed in the United States Congress called The National Child Vaccine Injury Act.  It rose from two problems, children were being injured by the DTP vaccine available at the time and lawsuits with large payouts against vaccine manufacturers and doctors were on the increase.

At the time the bill was passed, the only vaccines routinely given to children were the DTP and oral polio at 2, 4, 6, and 18 months,  and the MMR at 15 months. The vaccine schedule has increased since the mid-80’s. The 2016 CDC recommended vaccine schedule contains 3 doses of Hep B at birth, 2 and 6 months, two doses of Rotavirus at 2 and 4 months,  DTap at 2, 4, 6 and 18 months, the HIB at 2, 4, and 12 months, the PCV13 at 2, 4 and 6 months and the Polio at 2, 4 and 6-18 months. Also a Flu vaccine yearly, beginning at six months. At 12 months, a child also receives their first dose of MMR, Varicella and Hepatitis A.

Legislative Update

House Bill H7899 Introduced! We as a group had some serious concerns regarding school vaccination correspondences to parents over the past few months. We met again with our legislators expressing our concerns and are excited to say this act would require all correspondence to parents relating to vaccinations to contain notification about the option to opt out!

We would like to thank the following senators for working closely with the RI Alliance for Vaccine Choice We appreciate your hard work and support.

Thank you House Representatives Sherry Roberts, Mike Chippendale, and Justin Price

To Date the following bills have been introduced

Senate Bill S2292
Senate Bill S2295
House Bill H7475

Vaccine Ingredients – Part One

Recently Bill H5691 An Act Relating To Health And Safety – Formaldehyde Control was introduced. This act would prohibit the use of formaldehyde or formaldehyde replacements in certain children’s products. We found this interesting considering formaldehyde is a common ingredient found in vaccines. As a group, we have to admit we were excited to see this bill. We wondered what would happen to all the vaccines RI had already purchased? If the bill passes and formaldehyde use is prohibited would we be able to target other ingredients and push to have those removed as well? It will be interesting to see how the general assembly votes on this!

Have you ever wondered what ingredients are  in vaccines? Have you asked your pediatrician if they knew the ingredients in the vaccines? I must admit I never asked my pediatrician. Had I failed as a parent? The answer is no! I like most parents trusted my pediatrician and their recommendations. This journey has changed how I feel and what I believe to be true. I no longer blindly trust my pediatrician or the CDC . I research most everything  and it can sometimes consume me. The bill I referenced above peeked not only my interest but others in the group as well. This week I took some time to review the CDC’s Vaccine Excipient & Media Summary and the Institute for Vaccine Safety’s Vaccine Excipient List. These are both great resources, easily accessible, and easy to understand. I did find some commonality in vaccine ingredients. Aluminum, Formaldehyde, and Thimerosal all stood out time and time again. There have been many reports/studies on the toxicity of these ingredients and long term effects they have on our children. According to Environmental Defense, all the vaccine ingredients are poisonous, carcinogenic or potentially harmful to the skin, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, immune and neurological systems in our bodies. If the ingredients are poisonous and carcinogenic then how are they safe? Next week we will continue the ingredient discussion as I dive deeper down the vaccine rabbit hole. Do your research, ask the hard questions, and trust your “gut feelings”

NORC

Has NORC contacted you? We’ve noticed an influx of calls and letters from NORC to parents and/or their children in RI that have opted out of vaccines or spoken out against vaccines. NORC conducts the National Immunization Survey, it consists of an interview conducted by telephone with households randomly selected and screened for the presence of young children. Respondents are asked a series of questions about the vaccinations received by selected children (including recommended seasonal flu vaccines), as well as questions about the availability of health insurance and selected demographic information. Respondents are also asked for permission to contact the children’s health providers for the sole purpose of obtaining immunization records, providing an important supplement to the household report. NORC then sends an Immunization History Questionnaire via mail to these health providers – many of whom have previously participated in the NIS over the years and respond at exceptionally high rates. Is this really a “Random” research study?
