Vaccine Ingredients – Part One

Recently Bill H5691 An Act Relating To Health And Safety – Formaldehyde Control was introduced. This act would prohibit the use of formaldehyde or formaldehyde replacements in certain children’s products. We found this interesting considering formaldehyde is a common ingredient found in vaccines. As a group, we have to admit we were excited to see this bill. We wondered what would happen to all the vaccines RI had already purchased? If the bill passes and formaldehyde use is prohibited would we be able to target other ingredients and push to have those removed as well? It will be interesting to see how the general assembly votes on this!

Have you ever wondered what ingredients are  in vaccines? Have you asked your pediatrician if they knew the ingredients in the vaccines? I must admit I never asked my pediatrician. Had I failed as a parent? The answer is no! I like most parents trusted my pediatrician and their recommendations. This journey has changed how I feel and what I believe to be true. I no longer blindly trust my pediatrician or the CDC . I research most everything  and it can sometimes consume me. The bill I referenced above peeked not only my interest but others in the group as well. This week I took some time to review the CDC’s Vaccine Excipient & Media Summary and the Institute for Vaccine Safety’s Vaccine Excipient List. These are both great resources, easily accessible, and easy to understand. I did find some commonality in vaccine ingredients. Aluminum, Formaldehyde, and Thimerosal all stood out time and time again. There have been many reports/studies on the toxicity of these ingredients and long term effects they have on our children. According to Environmental Defense, all the vaccine ingredients are poisonous, carcinogenic or potentially harmful to the skin, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, immune and neurological systems in our bodies. If the ingredients are poisonous and carcinogenic then how are they safe? Next week we will continue the ingredient discussion as I dive deeper down the vaccine rabbit hole. Do your research, ask the hard questions, and trust your “gut feelings”

NORC

Has NORC contacted you? We’ve noticed an influx of calls and letters from NORC to parents and/or their children in RI that have opted out of vaccines or spoken out against vaccines. NORC conducts the National Immunization Survey, it consists of an interview conducted by telephone with households randomly selected and screened for the presence of young children. Respondents are asked a series of questions about the vaccinations received by selected children (including recommended seasonal flu vaccines), as well as questions about the availability of health insurance and selected demographic information. Respondents are also asked for permission to contact the children’s health providers for the sole purpose of obtaining immunization records, providing an important supplement to the household report. NORC then sends an Immunization History Questionnaire via mail to these health providers – many of whom have previously participated in the NIS over the years and respond at exceptionally high rates. Is this really a “Random” research study?

“Follow the Money Trail”

The RI General Assembly is off to a tumultuous start this year and Rhode Islanders are paying very close attention. This election year I suspect we will see several new candidates promising change. I have always felt if we take the time to “Follow the Money Trail” we will see a candidates true agenda. CNN’s article “Big Pharma’s Big Donations to 2016 Presidential Candidates”  is an eye opener! In 2015 Big Pharma had donated $951,018 to presidential candidates and that doesn’t include the money they had spent lobbying. Pfizer alone spent over $10 million in lobbyist efforts last year and Merck $7.5 million! It makes me wonder what our money trail might look like here in RI…Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp. and Pfizer Inc. will spend thousands in their lobbyist efforts right here in RI this year.

I took some time and followed the money trail for the  Senate Bill S0381 introduced in 2015. There were 3 lobbyists working on behalf of Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp, The Rhode Island Medical Society, and GlaxoSmithKline to introduce S0381. Does everyone remember this bill? This was the bill introduced by Senators Miller and Goldin to remove the religious exemption form. The RI Lobby Tracker site is a great resource for anyone interested in following the money trail. If you are interested researching campaign contributions in RI visit the Campaign Finance Electronic Reporting & Tracking System (ERTS)

This November before you vote for your candidate, do your research, follow the money trail,  ask the difficult questions and understand what your candidates true agenda is! Remember, they work for you!

Bill Submission Deadline Rapidly Approaching

The last day for Senate and House Bill submission is February 11, 2016. The next two weeks we need your help contacting  legislators. Our group has bipartisan support in both the Rhode Island House and Senate. Last week our group met with several members of the RI General Assembly, several of which have already made commitments to submit or support legislation to accomplish the group’s goals. This is great news but there is still much work to be done.

What YOU can do to help…

Contact your legislators

Remember you elected them, hold them accountable. Explain that you want them to pass legislation to accomplish the following:

1. Restrict the authority of the RI Department of Health (DOH) to set minimum immunization standards for diseases that are non-transmissible in a school environment.
2. Remove the authority of the DOH to mandate HPV vaccination as a condition of school inclusion.
3. Require the DOH director to hold three public hearings when changes to the minimum standards for immunizations are planned.
4. Reinstate the philosophical exemption while also preserving the religious exemption.

Our HPV Parent Information Kit has a lot of information and a sample letter you can email to your legislator.

Continue to spread the word with Parents

The school districts have already started sending home the vaccine requirements for all the 6th graders, for some parents this will be the first time hearing about the HPV vaccine mandate. Direct them to our website where they will find valuable information on our Resources Page Are you interested in booking us for a speaking engagement or event? Please contact us HERE

Gather names and emails of your school nurses, PTO leaders, and school committees

We are creating a contact list and need your help gathering names, emails, and phone numbers. Please submit school information HERE You can also use this link to upload any vaccine mandate handouts being distributed. We will use the handouts as part of our testimony at the bill hearing.

Stay Informed.

Wondering what Bills are being proposed in the Senate and the House? Check out the “Daily Introductions” on the State RI General Assembly website. Keep tabs on the  Senate Committee on Health and Human Services They proposed the Religious Exemption removal and work closely with the RI Department of Health (DOH) This week the committee met with Dr. Alexander Scott of the DOH once we receive the meeting notes we will share with the group.

Awaking ~ Written by Dr. Black

Awaking:

  1. to wake up; rouse from sleep:
  2. to rouse to action; become active:
  3. to come or bring to an awareness; become cognizant:

There is an awaking happening and I am proud to be witness to it…I have not seen such enthusiastic questioning of an established authority in my last twenty plus years as a Doctor of Chiropractic, as I have in these last twelve months…

An underground movement started by outliers; frustrated grandmothers, concerned moms and dads, health care consumers that have started to awake and ask questions, all of whom have started to make the established health care machine uncomfortable.

We have all found each other and have evolved into a passionate tribe that seeks to share truth and protect each other’s freedom to make informed decisions that are best for our families and ourselves. No longer are we fighting a solitary fight, often feeling that we are yelling our truths into the darkness, we have started to awaken the consciousness of our community and with a unified message we can change not only our community but I believe the face of health care today….

Until next keep thinking and seeking YOUR truths….

~ Doc Black

This week the as the General Assembly headed back into session our  Governor, Representatives, and Senators here in RI were sent our proposed legislative packet.

Here are the 2016 legislation changes The Alliance to Remove HPV Vaccine Mandate is proposing:

1. Restrict the authority of the DOH to set minimum immunization standards for diseases which are non-transmissible in a school environment.

2. Remove the authority of the DOH to mandate HPV vaccination as a condition of school inclusion.

3. Require the DOH director to hold three public hearings when changes to the minimum standards for immunizations are planned.

We also propose legislation to reinstate the philosophical exemption while also preserving the religious exemption to vaccinations.

Help us achieve these goals by contacting your RI State Senators and RI State Representatives today!

We have created a packet for you as well. The HPV Parent Information Kit is now available to download or print. You will find the packet and other valuable information on our Resources Page.
